[December 29, 2016] Me and my lovely wife are recent residents of Vancouver, Canada. I’m almost a year now in my job as a Project Coordinator in a construction company (Olympic Projects Ltd.) with Joe and Eleanor as my outstanding and kind-hearted employers. This happened because of “Kuya” Amado, who God used as an instrument for me having this job (I love my job). What he does inspires me to help others who are in need of assistance just like me before when I was in their shoes. I want to share my Motto to all the readers and kapwa Filipinos: I CAN DO IT!!!

I am a landed new immigrant and had difficulty finding a job that is aligned with my education and work experience. I am frustrated and don’t know how to kick start again my career in Canada. I contacted FCCS and requested to be mentored. I asked what are the options for me to be a registered Professional Engineer or an Applied Science Technoligist. They mentored me the different options and I now understand the certification process and more confident on what to do. They gave me the hope and inspiration I need to pursue my certification.

Carlos asked to be mentored to be an electrician in BC. A FCCS mentor met one-on-one with Carlos, discussed different topics related to Canadian standards and reviewed sample documents. Later, when the mentor needed an electrician, he hired Carlos.

A civil engineer from Singapore who arrived 2 years ago, Jojo met with FCCS mentors and discussed how to be certified. The result is that Jojo enrolled at BCIT to take the Building Code program, and is on his way to certification.
